Academic regalia refers to the formal attire worn during the Graduation Ceremony to receive your award. The robe is called a gown, and the hat is referred to as a mortarboard. The hood and stoles distinguish your faculty and degree. Graduates are not permitted to customise or add any items to the approved regalia. For further details, please refer to the Graduation Ceremony Dress Code located in the “Graduation Day” tab.
The gown is worn over the top of your clothing like a jacket. Undergraduates' arms go through the sleeves, while postgraduate students' arms slide through an opening in the sleeve.

You will have the opportunity to capture the phonetic pronunciation of your name during the ceremony registration process. Every effort will be made by the name reader to ensure your request is adhered to; however, we cannot guarantee perfect enunciation and intonation.
Therefore, we encourage graduates to discuss any special requests or requirements for the pronunciation of their names with the graduation team in the lead-up to the ceremony. If a graduate does not specify any pronunciation requirements during the ceremony registration process, the name reader will pronounce the first and last names as they are understood.
