Summer closure dates

Brisbane campus will be closed for the summer break from Wednesday 18 December 2024 to Wednesday 1 January 2025.

We will be back on Thursday 2 January.

Alert - bike and scooter theft!

There has been an increase in thefts within our local neighbourhood, specifically targeting bikes and scooters. To help ensure that your property remains secure, we encourage you to use proper security equipment.

Additionally, we have an allocated bike and scooter bay for our students to use. If you require access to this space, please visit our Campus Concierge team, who will be happy to assist you.

Public transport

Great news! 50 cent public transport fares have been made permanent on all Translink networks across Queensland.

Regular buses are a short walk from campus. Plan your journey.

Translink Concessions: To be eligible for Translink concession fares you will need:

  • to be studying a full-time study load (2 or 3 subjects) and at least one of your classes must be delivered on campus
  • to have a Queensland address under your Student Record.

Please note that you must carry a current approved photo ID at all times when traveling on concession fares. Find out how to apply.

City Scooters and Bikes: City council scooters and bikes are available throughout the city and valley to assist you in getting around.

CityCat: Regular CityCats are available and are a 3 minute walk from Riverside or Howard Smith Wharves.

Bikes & e-scooters

Bike racks: You can secure your bike to a cycle rack on campus. Make sure you bring you own high-quality lock to secure your bike.

E-scooters and E-bikes: E-bikes and scooters can be used to get to campus, and parked in the bike rack area. They are not permitted to be charged on campus.

Secure Parking: Martin St, underneath the campus from 7am - 10pm.

Self-care sessions

Meet one-on-one with our Student Care Coordinator to learn and practice techniques that will help you to stay calm and overcome negative self-talk.

Register with our counselling service by completing a CARE form to access up to 6 sessions of either counselling or self-care.

Book a support session with a Master of Counselling student

Supervised by a qualified practitioner at The Practice, our Master of Counselling student counsellors can help with anxiety, adjusting to life changes, grief, loss, anger management, social skills and more.

Sessions go for 50 minutes and are free for all enrolled students. Face-to-face sessions available at Surry Hills clinic. Telehealth is available nationally. Book an appointment with a Master of Counselling student.

Accommodation options for Brisbane students

Brisbane Students is the largest student housing service provider in South East Queensland and one of the largest providers nationally with over 1800 beds under management. Brisbane Students is recognised as an industry leader, predominantly due to the work we have undertaken with our clients and industry partners, as well as being a Board member of the Student Accommodation Industry Association (SAIA).
