Student Hub: Respect & Safety

Building a safer, more respectful community for everyone

Launching early next year, Respect Matters is our new and expanded online module that will replace Consent Matters.

Respect Matters explores respectful relationships, consent, and how we can all contribute to safe and inclusive learning spaces. It also supports Torrens University and Think Education in meeting the requirements of the National Higher Education Code to Prevent and Respond to Gender-Based Violence (2025).

You can’t have meaningful consent without respect. This module helps you build that foundation, in every interaction. You’ll learn how to:

  • Communicate with respect and care
  • Set and respect personal boundaries
  • Build empathy and understanding
  • Contribute to safer, more inclusive spaces across our campuses and online

You’ll find Respect Matters on your learning platform when it launches so you don't need to do anything. This is part of our ongoing commitment to ensuring Torrens Univeirsty and Think Education are safe, inclusive, and respectful communities - because consent starts with respect.
