There are important changes to some of the Health Science Courses currently offered by Australasian College of Natural Therapies (ACNT) and Southern School of Natural Therapies (SSNT) in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and our online campus, that exist under the qualification provider THINK Education.

Clinical Practicum allocations for T3

 If you are planning to enrol into a clinical practicum subjects/s, for nutrition or naturopathy, in trimester 3 please do so by Friday 13th September to assist us with the allocation process. In order to fit in high numbers of students to clinic sessions we have a step-wise procedure as follows:

  1. Enrol in your Clinical Practicum subject via your new Student Portal.
  2. Academic team will allocate you to a clinic session/s according to your subject enrolment (this includes consideration of concurrent subject timetable).
  3. Academic team will advise you of your allocated session/s via email.

If you cannot attend one or more of your allocated sessions, you can complete an Application for Timetable Change.

  • Your timetable change request must include supporting documentation in order to be considered for the re-allocation proposed.
  • Your request will be considered by the Clinic Coordinator or Program Director.
  • You will be advised of the outcome of your application via email.

 

Clinic Induction Session - Trimester 3, Save the Date!

Friday 13th September 9 AM - 12.30 PM

This event is compulsory for all students that are new to clinic practicum in Trimester 3, 2019 OR are returning to clinic practicum from an extended period of leave (12 + months)

Further details will be emailed to you  shortly if you are required to attend. Please note students enrolled in pre-clinical subjects are not required to attend, this event is for students who will be treating clients in the Think Wellbeing Centre for the first time in Trimester 3.

Trimester 1, 2020 subject selection and enrolment

Subject selection opens on Wednesday 13th November.

You can enrol and register for classes in your Student Portal.

Enrolment forms

We recommend that you use the Student Portal to select your subjects.

However, if you need to submit a paper enrolment form, due to prerequisite waivers, please complete and return the form to Student Services along with your study plan and/or an email confirmation of the waiver from your Program Director.

Course Updates: Health Science Courses

Torrens University Australia (TUA), which is also part of the Laureate International Universities network here in Australia, will soon launch four new Health Science courses.

These will also be delivered at our colleges ACNT (Sydney and Brisbane) and SSNT (Melbourne) with Torrens University Australia as the provider.

Introducing the new courses:

  • Diploma of Health Science - Torrens University Australia
  • Bachelor of Health Science (Naturopathy) – Torrens University Australia
  • Bachelor of Health Science (Clinical Nutrition) - Torrens University Australia
  • Bachelor of Health Science (Western Herbal Medicine) – Torrens University Australia
What does this mean for me?

These new TUA courses will eventually replace the current courses:

  • Diploma of Health Science – THINK Education
  • Bachelor of Health Science (Naturopathy) – THINK Education
  • Bachelor of Health Science (Nutritional Medicine) – THINK Education
  • Bachelor of Health Science (Western Herbal Medicine) – THINK Education

This will mean that the four THINK courses will be going into teach out so we won’t be taking any further enrolments into these courses. 

However please be assured that there are no changes to your current enrolment.

Your current course will continue to be delivered until the final course completion date which will be the end of trimester 1, 2021 for Diploma students and the end of trimester 3, 2021 for Bachelor students.

If you are studying part-time, and worry that you won’t be finished your studies by the final teach out periods, please don’t be concerned. We have a number of pathway options available for you to ensure you can successfully complete your qualification and we will be in contact with you to explain these options.

Working with Children Check and First Aid

We require all students practicing in the Think Wellbeing Centre to have a current Working with Children Check (WWCC) and First Aid Certificate before they commence any clinic work.

Clinic students will be required to submit to Student Services a certified copy of their Working  With Children Card and First Aid Certificate before commencing the trimester. You may also provide the original and have it certified on-campus.

First Aid

The Unit of Competency HLTAID003 - Provide First Aid is sufficient. You must provide a copy of your current certificate to Student Services.
